The best way to advertise an affiliate program is through writing articles and submitting them to syndicated sites for others to use, thereby creating links to your own website.</p>
<p>If you are new to website promotion, you may need to know how this works. First, you need to read, and then you write about what you have learned. I have found that there is definitely no shortage of information on the web. Take the information and put into your own words, your thoughts and feelings regarding what you have learned through your reading, and experiences and knowledge of your own. Sit down and write from 350 to 700 words about what you think or have learned in this process. When submitting them to article publishing sites for approval, make sure to add your website links in the author&#8217;s note, to link your website to other websites. Then when other website owners need valuable content to post on their website, you have gained the opportunity to put your link on someone else&#8217;s website. They go to the article publishing sites to find good content, and if they like yours, you get a free link. Easy, and free.</p>

<p>You can join a power linking forum and get a complete list of article syndication sites to submit your articles to, or do a search of your own. You then can either submit your articles manually, or pay an article submission site to submit them for you for approval. Since I want mine free, and have the time, I do my own submissions manually. Please take the time to correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure before submitting your articles, and be sure to read each sites rules for submission to insure your articles are considered for publishing. Some of them have some strict rules and guidelines, especially regarding where your links can be placed in the article. Most will only allow links in the author&#8217;s note box.</p>
<p>The next thing you need to do is set up a blog. This, too, is free and lots of fun! There, you can even post your very own personal journal. I have chosen to make mine about online business promotion, and post only articles about online businesses. Do a search for free blogs to find the one that is right for you. Post your articles on your blog. It&#8217;s easy and fun to do, with copying and pasting from a word document. You can also post your photos on your blog. To build your traffic, make sure you include a link to your main website near the top of your blog. The more content your blog has, the better the search engines love you.</p>
<p>If you need more content than you can possibly write in the beginning, you can use articles others have written on the subject you are creating for your blog. Article publishing sites are full of good quality articles on just about any subject you may want to choose. But you must always include the author&#8217;s note at the bottom, to give the author credit and the opportunity to have his or her link displayed on your site. After you have given your blog valuable content, you need to &#8220;ping&#8221; your blogsite, so search engine spiders will find you. This helps to build your traffic to your blog. Then due to your link on your blog to your main webpage site, you increase your main website traffic. I use &#8220;Ping-O-Matic&#8221; for mine. It gets submitted to many different sites at once, and very simple to do.</p>
<p>Next, you can link your blog to other blogs by joining a bloglinking site. You get lots of free traffic, and other bloggers leave comments on your blogspot, leaving a link, and you can link on their blogs the same way. Free, Free, Free Traffic!</p>

<p>Write a descriptive title for each page of 5 to 8 words. Remove as many &#8220;filler&#8221; words from the title, such as &#8220;the,&#8221; &#8220;and,&#8221; etc. Mention appropriate keywords relevant to your website content. Remember search engines give this a lot of emphasis.</p>

<p>Meta tags always go in the section of the document. META NAME tags include descriptions and keywords. This HTML code helps some search engines classify and rank a web page. META HTTP-EQUIV tags can indicate to the web browser how to display the page.</p>
<p>Write a descriptive META Tags. Many search engines include this description below your hyperlinked title. This sentence should describe the contents of the body text of the webpage, using the main keywords and key phrases used on this page. If you include keywords that aren&#8217;t used on the webpage content you could hurt the prospect of being listed in the search engine.</p>
<p>3. <strong>Linking Strategy</strong></p>
<p>Link popularity is basically the number of links that point to your web site. Besides the optimization of your web pages for meta tags and search engine marketing and readiness, link popularity is considered as being a major factor for your ranking in the search engines. A large number of links that point to your web site will therefore improve your ranking significantly. Besides that, well placed links are an excellent source of consistent traffic to your web site.</p>
<p>Some of the important search Engines that consider link popularity as a factor for relevancy are Google, Excite, Lycos, Webcrawler &#038; Altavista.</p>
<p><strong>Linking strategies</strong> are an essential type of site promotion. The more links pointing to your site, the more traffic you&#8217;ll experience (and the greater perceived &#8220;popularity&#8221; will rank you higher in the search engines). To get someone to link to your site, you need to ask. The simplest way is to find complementary sites, link to them on a linking page, and ask them to link to you. The key, of course, is for your site to have content that so good that it&#8217;s worth linking to. Ask for links on sites that cover your industry, as well as from associations your business belongs to.</p>

<p>Now it&#8217;s time to submit your website to search engines. It is recommended never use automated tools, your website might end up never being spidered by the search engine. The best way is to manually goto the major search engines listed below and manually submit.</p>
<p>Google.com and Yahoo.com &#8211; A definite must. Over 90% of smaller search engines take their fodder from here.</p>

It is a real put off to affiliates. So if you have just one or two products I recommend that you use a large market place such as Clickbank or PayDotCom to get lots of affiliates to promote your products..</p>
<p>2. Pay a big commission. When selling digital products online it is recommended that you give the largest percentage you can. A minimum of 50% should be offered, 60% is nice but 70% or 75% is a generous commission. You might be thinking to yourself, &#8220;75%! That is crazy&#8230; I want to make &#8216;some&#8217; money as well, why should they get more than me?&#8221;. Quite simply, the more you give affiliates the more likely they are willing to spend their money to promote your products so you will make more sales and get the potential for more repeat products in the long run..</p>
<p>3. Pay them quickly and reliably. Affiliates always have an inbuilt fear that the product owner will run off with their money so the sooner you pay them the more comfortable they are and the more willing they are to promote your products. Plus if you pay them reliably at the agreed time each month then this will have the same effect..</p>
<p>4. Make it easy for them to promote you. The last thing you want to do is make it hard or complicated for your affiliates to promote your products. So you have to make it dead easy for them to promote you by providing them with easy to brand solo ads, articles and ezine ads.</p>
